We do not sell your personal information
We don't sell your personal information for money. Some advertising cookies may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out of that sharing at any time by turning on Global Privacy Control or by emailing [email protected] with the subject line "Do Not Share."
We have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of anyone under 16.
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives you these rights:
- Right to know
- Ask what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we use it and who we share it with, and get a copy of it.
- Right to delete
- Ask us to delete personal information we collected from you. We may keep some records we're legally required to keep, such as order and tax records.
- Right to correct
- Ask us to fix information that's wrong.
- Right to opt out
- Tell us not to sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Right to limit
- Limit how we use sensitive personal information. We only use it, such as your account password, for the purposes the law allows, so this right rarely applies.
- Non-discrimination
- We won't charge you more, give you worse service or deny you anything because you used these rights.
Over the past 12 months, we have collected the categories of information listed in Information we collect: identifiers, customer records, commercial information, internet activity, approximate location and, for account holders, login credentials. We use and share them as described above and keep them as described in Data retention.
California's "Shine the Light" law also lets you ask, once a year, whether we shared your information with third parties for their own direct marketing. We don't.
Privacy rights in other states
Several states, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon and others, have their own privacy laws. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Confirm whether we process your personal information and get a copy of it
- Correct or delete it
- Opt out of targeted advertising, sale of personal information and certain profiling
- Appeal if we turn down your request
We extend these choices to all US customers where we reasonably can, even if your state doesn't require it yet.
How to exercise your rights
Contact us
Email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy Request," or call +1 (513) 407-3252. Tell us which right you want to use.
We verify it's you
We match the details you give us, such as your email and a recent order number, against our records. We only ask for what we need.
We respond
We confirm we received your request within 10 business days and answer within 45 days. If we need more time, we'll tell you why, and we may take up to 45 more days.
You can also let an authorized agent make a request for you. We'll ask for your signed permission and may ask you to confirm your identity with us directly.
If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with the subject "Privacy Appeal." We'll respond within the time your state's law requires. If you're still not satisfied, you can contact your state attorney general.
Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the reasons in this policy:
- Order, payment and tax records: about seven years, to meet tax and accounting rules and support your lifetime warranty
- Account information: until you close your account, then up to two years
- Marketing lists: until you unsubscribe, then we keep your email on a suppression list so we don't contact you again
- Analytics data: usually up to 26 months
How we protect your information
Our site uses HTTPS encryption. Card details are handled by PCI-compliant payment processors and never stored on our servers. We limit staff access to personal information to the people who need it to do their jobs.
No system is 100% secure, so please use a strong, unique password for your account. If we learn of a security breach that affects your personal information, we'll notify you as the law requires.
Children's privacy
Our website is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. You must be 18 or older to buy from us. If you think a child has given us personal information, email [email protected] and we'll delete it.
Email and text marketing
We only send marketing emails or texts if you sign up. You can stop them anytime:
- Email: click "unsubscribe" at the bottom of any marketing email.
- Text messages: reply STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply, and how often we text depends on your settings.
- Either one: email [email protected] and we'll take you off the list.
You'll still get messages about your orders, such as receipts, shipping updates and return labels. We never sell or share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. We'll post the new version here and change the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also let you know by email or with a notice on our site.
